Offis Textile has set up Biogas Energy and is running its entire plant on gas produced from biodegradable waste. The company has constructed a special 4-kilometer gas pipeline to Hiriya, the largest waste transfer station in the Middle East and located close to the company’s plant near Tel Aviv. This bio-gas, comprising 40% Methane gas (CH4) and 60% Carbon dioxide gas (CO2), has completely replaced the burning of low sulphur fuel oil. As a result of this innovative development, Offis Textile benefits from a significant decrease in energy costs and local residents enjoy much cleaner air.
